If you’re involved in campaign communications for elections, we’re here to help you:
- use the mail to support your work to best effect
- target and reach all potential voters in your area
- plan and schedule your mail campaign.
Get in touch with our election team
Within each electoral region in the UK we have a dedicated Election Manager to support and ensure that your mailing campaign runs as smoothly as possible. One of their key activities is to agree a date with you regarding the delivery of your campaign literature into Royal Mail. All you need to do is contact our Election Support Team on 0845 607 6424* and find out who your contact is.
Locate your nearest Royal Mail "drop off" point
Candidates and political parties are responsible for checking that campaign literature is presented to the correct Royal Mail office for onward delivery. Again, contact the Election Support Team for details of our "drop off" points.
Plan volumes when you plan delivery to voters
We can tell you how many delivery points there are in your constituency or electoral area. This will help you work out the volume of printed election material you will need to reach potential voters in your area. This information is contained within the relevant files for all the electoral regions in our documents section. You will need this to break down your mailing to Royal Mail Delivery Office level or to street name or postal walk if you use a pre-sorted Addressed mail option. We recommend you discuss all of this with your Election Manager before taking any action.
Get your artwork checked
As you would expect, we need to check candidates’ campaign material to confirm that is acceptable, for example that it contains nothing obscene, indecent or offensive. Check our conditions and recommendations and complete the form that confirms your mailing details. Then email this, together with your artwork proof to our dedicated artwork team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
*Calls may be recorded and monitored for training and compliance purposes. Calls cost 5p per minute plus your telephone company's network access charge.
